Just Released! Unprofessional Conduct, Policy Violations, & $15.7k in Time Theft
The BART Office of the Inspector General (OIG) has released a new investigative summary detailing findings of policy violations, unprofessional conduct, and a case of time theft totaling $15,679.
Independent investigators confirmed instances of inappropriate behavior by executive personnel but found no evidence of discrimination. In a separate case, an employee falsified time records on 16 occasions, while their supervisor failed to provide the necessary oversight. The same employee also compromised the integrity of a disciplinary process by improperly sharing confidential interview materials.
To address these issues, we have recommended that BART seek restitution, enforce accountability measures, and strengthen oversight procedures.
