Just Released! BART OIG Investigative Report on Allegations of Theft
Summary of Investigations into Allegations of Theft
I am pleased to announce the release of the BART Office of the Inspector General’s latest investigative report.
Our report provides a comprehensive summary of investigations into four allegations of theft. These investigations addressed claims of time theft, merchandise theft, and overtime fraud. After thoroughly reviewing documentation, conducting observations, and performing interviews, we found no evidence to substantiate three of these claims. However, we confirmed a case of extended absences, resulting in a $340 loss in improper wages.
This report underscores our commitment to transparency and accountability. We appreciate the efforts of individuals who report their concerns in good faith, as their input helps us uncover facts and maintain confidentiality when no wrongdoing is found.
