Just Released! BART OIG Fiscal Year 2025 Annual Report
I am pleased to present the Independent Office of the BART Inspector General's 2025 Annual Report. This past year, our office continued to strengthen accountability, transparency, and efficiency across the District. We closed 32 investigations, recovered over $106,000 lost to fraud or error, and launched a retaliation reporting guide to protect those who come forward.
We advanced five major audits—on overtime, Link21 spending, construction contract change orders, workers’ compensation, and inventory management. Our workers’ compensation audit is being conducted in multiple phases due to its complexity, with a focus on controls, cost management, and program effectiveness.
To support greater transparency, we released a public-facing dashboard that tracks OIG recommendations in real time. We also implemented Missionmark, our new case and audit management platform, to automate workflows and strengthen our follow-up with BART departments.
Our office remains committed to professional excellence. In FY25, we welcomed a new Investigative Auditor, earned a Certified Fraud Examiner credential, and upgraded our interview space to better support whistleblowers.
The full report provides a detailed view of our investigations, audits, recommendations, and oversight tools for Fiscal Year 2025.
