We are pleased to share key updates from last week's Audit Committee meeting regarding the Office of the Inspector General’s (OIG) budget and charter.

For the OIG charter, important discussions centered on maintaining our independence and clarifying the OIG's role concerning collective bargaining agreements, which is crucial for protecting the integrity of our investigations.

In response to the Audit Committee's request from June 20, 2024, we also addressed our funding balance at the end of FY2024 and proposed redirecting $260,000 of these funds to FY2025 to support our continued audit efforts. We will work with BART staff to bring this request back to the Audit Committee and Board of Directors later this year.
